Some of the best beaches in North Carolina could be at Picnic Street Park, Les and Sally Moore Park, Tom Doe Memorial Park, and Fort Macon State Park.
The Circle is always the first and most popular choice because it is close to the Causeway. There are also a lot of bathrooms, showers, swings, volleyball courts, and lifeguards. A trip to the beach is a must, whether you want to swim or just lay out in the sun.
Fort Macon State Park
Fort Macon has been chosen as Georgia’s most-visited state park, which is not a big surprise. It’s a beautiful place to learn about the state’s long history.
It’s one of the best things to do in Atlantic Beach. It covers 389 acres and is surrounded by beautiful beaches on all sides.
During the Civil War, the beautiful and well-known fort was built to protect against pirate raids. Changes were made in a stylish way.

There are also places to sit and enjoy the view. We like to take long walks around the neighborhood and watch people. The lively and beautiful promenade in Atlantic Beach is a must-do for anyone going to the beach.
Oceanana Pier is the place to go if you want to fish at Atlantic Beach. It’s the only pier in town, and it’s also one of the best on the entire Crystal Coast.
At the end of the pier, you can see the ocean. This is a great place to spend the afternoon. About a thousand feet are added to the length of the pier.
During the warmer months, fishermen may catch or watch other fishermen catch flounder, croakers, and pompano. In the winter, there are more black-and-red drums. You don’t have to go anywhere else to rent the tools you need.
Every time you go to the pier, you can eat at the Pier House Restaurant, which has been there for a long time and serves delicious, real American food and fresh seafood. We’ve come here, as we do every time we come, to watch the sun go down.
Hope Pole Creek Nature Preserve

In the Hope Pole Creek Nature Reserve, there is a beautiful trail that goes through a mile of coastal forest. At the place where Hope Pole Creek and Bogue Sound meet, you can see beautiful salt marshes and estuaries.
You might want to bring mosquito repellent, but the dense forest could be a nice break from the beach and ocean.
Since this area is a historic site, it is home to many native plants and animals. In this area, you can see many different kinds of birds.
The path can be used by people with different mobility needs because it has both paved and dirt sections, as well as boardwalk sections. This is a lovely way to see the North Carolina coast.
North Carolina Aquarium
The North Carolina Aquarium is about five minutes away from Pine Knoll Shores. At the aquarium, you can learn all about the amazing marine life in the area. They do important work to protect the environment and teach people about its benefits.
At the Living Shipwreck exhibit, a replica of a World War II submarine swims in an ocean tank that holds 300,000 gallons of water. There is a touch tank with stingrays and an exhibit about a marine turtle’s day.
One of the best parts for us is watching the otters play with and interact with the sharks. Great for a rainy day, but busy on the weekends.

There are many great places to eat in Atlantic Beach.
Modern American fish dishes with a Southern twist are served at Amos Mosquitos. Even if the food doesn’t sound good, the view will.
From the lovely patio, you can watch the calm waves of Bogue Sound. Even the most fancy recipes taste better when they use seasonal and locally grown ingredients.
At the Bahia Beach House and Surf Bar, both locals and tourists hang out. This restaurant is in the second-oldest home on the Bogue Banks, which is also the name of the building.
This place, which is on the Circle in Atlantic Beach, manages to be both casual and classy. The Crab Croquettes, Oysters Oaxacafeller, and Chili Dusted Shrimp and Grits are all great choices.

The Rachel Carson Coastal Estuarine Reserve is a beautiful place to see nature. To get there, people can take a private boat or a passenger ferry.

You can look at a lot of different antiques at Betty Bs at the Beach, and it’s a lot of fun to go on a treasure hunt among them. At both the Gatorburg and the Posh Pelican, women can find the most stylish clothes and accessories.

Creative people think that the Atlantic Beach Art Market is one of the best places to go in the area. This one-of-a-kind group shows the work of more than 90 local artists and merchants across more than 5,000 square feet.

During the warmer months, people can go to the Path Art Gallery and look at its large collection of paintings by many talented artists.

Cape Lookout National Seashore

The beautiful landscape is a great place to fish, watch birds, and walk along the beach. The Cape Lookout Lighthouse is another.
The public can’t go inside the beautiful black-and-white building anymore, but it makes a great background for water-themed photos.
